The Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF)
The Akshaya Patra Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation headquartered in Bengaluru, India. The organisation strives to eliminate classroom hunger by implementing the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in the government schools and government-aided schools. Alongside, Akshaya Patra also aims at countering malnutrition and supporting the right to education of socio-economically disadvantaged children.Since 2000, Akshaya Patra has been concerting all its efforts towards providing fresh and nutritious meals to children on every single school day by continuously leveraging technology to multiply their reach. Their innovative state-of-the-art kitchens have become a subject of study and have attracted curious visitors from around the world. With the persistent support from the Govt. of India, State Govt.s, corporates, individual donors, and well-wishers, Akshaya Patra has today become the world’s largest (not-for-profit) organisation, serving 1.7 million children in 14,173 schools across 12 states in India. SVYASA Yoga University
S-VYASA, the acronym of Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana is a unique Yoga University translating the vision and teachings of Swami Vivekananda to action through academic higher education programs. It is also the First ISO 2001:2008 Certified Yoga University
S-VYASA Yoga University is an initiative of Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana or VYASA, a registered charitable institution (1986) working for making Yoga as a socially relevant Science. Based on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda the four streams of Yoga with unity in their diversity, the key essence of Indian culture, applications of Yoga to bring health, harmony, peace the world over are now spread across the globe in nearly 30 countries. The mission of VYASA is to combine the best of the East (Yoga and Spiritual lore) with that of the West (modern scientific research). Taking into the performance of this Institution in conducting Short Term and Long Term Courses on Yoga and its allied subjects (and on affiliating to 4 universities from 1990 to 2001) including the Bangalore University), the UGC named S-VYASA in 2002 as a Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. The BRICS Institute
The BRICS Institute is a young scholars’ forum based in New Delhi, Beijing and Moscow. It promotes analytical research and exchange of ideas among young scholars of the BRICS countries. It is an emerging think-tank which speaks on the behalf of the emerging powers.Through our research projects and other academic activities we promote objective dialogue between BRICS countries and other regions as well. We promote mutual investment on win-win basis and without any zero sum game.
BRICS Consultancy Services (BCS) is also a part of the larger idea to promote trade and investment in the BRICS countries. We provide investors critical political and economic information with an update of investment opportunities in the five BRICS countries as well as related to the emerging markets in the region. It is primarily a market research wing of the Institute and focuses on country risk analysis, lobbying with government, sector wise analysis and environmental consultancy.
To promote a holistic understanding and promotion of healthy relations among the countries we will promote cultural exchanges. We promote civilizational dialogue by organizing annual conferences and seminars on the theme of ancient religions and philosophy such as Yoga and Buddhism.
In the future the Institute also proposes to promote sports activities to improve the relations among the countries and is lobbying to start a BRICS tournament. We have proposed to organize BRICS tournament for some of the popular sports and thus, are keen on the promotion of sports between countries to promote healthier relations.
Youth For Seva
Youth for Seva (YFS), founded in April 2007, is a nation-wide volunteering movement that inspires youth to volunteer, and provides them with meaningful opportunities to serve the community.
The goal of YFS is to support schools, destitute shelters, government hospitals and other organizations in the social sector through volunteers who can help them mitigate some of their shortcomings and challenges. Volunteering is made easy and customized to the individual’s interests, time availability and skill sets.
YFS aims to create positive change agents in the society, through the culture of volunteering.
The School of Ancient Wisdom is a centre for the development of the human potential in the tradition of mystery schools. It teaches the esoteric principles of ageless, ancient wisdom. The School allows aspirants to progress at their own pace, with the freedom to interpret the truth in the teachings, as they see it.
Founded in 1985, World Organisation of Students & Youth (WOSY) is an India-headquartered International Students’ Organization devoted to the cause of global co-operation and a secure, peaceful world. With membership drawn from among 60 countries, we work with both ICCR funded foreign students as well as foreign students who come to study in India through their own individual means. We have vibrant chapters in Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mysore, Chandigarh & Agra.
